( he knows— or. he's had a feeling and hasn't been too sure what to make of it himself. this is new to edward for a myriad of reasons and, as such, he's done what he always does when faced with something he wants but shouldn't: he's fought it, tooth and nail.
but then kol takes his hand — touches each fingertip with lips and he watches, eyes somehow growing darker as he does. for it's not only the thirst for blood that fills him, but a thirst for something else as well. for someone else.
when he speaks, it's strained. )
